b Magazine X Tomorrowland

KONICHIWA!

Mr Murphy and the B gang have recently returned from their Tokyo travels, and it seems they’ve been busy! Whilst they were in the land of the rising sun they met up with the emporium of want and desire that is Tomorrowland. The result is a glorious selection of 5 exclusive tees designed by our very own art director, Christopher Colville-Walker and his studio.

As if that wasnt enough the boys also designed a super special window display and in-store shopping area themed around our very own b Magazine at Tomorrowlands Shibuya store in the bustling heart of central Tokyo.

Cho-kawaii!!!

There we were thinking they’d just been shopping and stuffing their faces…

b Magazine issue 4 – pick up your copy!

In this issue – HEAT WAVE – we’re getting in the spring/summer sensibility as photographers Aitken Jolly, Mel Bles, Alex Sainsbury and Nick Dorey shoot the best the season has to offer and we preview b stores’s first full womenswear collection designed by Natascha Stolle.

Also in this issue, the director Clio Barnard – fresh from winning the best new documentary filmmaker award at the Tribeca Film Festival for her debut feature, The Arbor – talks to us about the concept of truth and is joined by the filmmakers behind b store’s spring/summer 11 women’s film Leaving Dreamland, Velvet Rain. We meet The Hospital Club’s creative in residence for film 2011, Jonathan Entwistle, and the filmmaker Nicholas Abrahams tells us about his new project: a documentary-film about Jane County, the American male-to-female transsexual performer, musician and actor.

The delightful Ian Batten tells us how after 40 years in the business of making fashion, he’s still learning. The photographer Colin Dodgson and stylist Tracey Nicholson capture the designer at his Highgate shop-cum-studio wearing pieces from his archive.

Michael Nottingham – who is still writing his interminable doctoral thesis on eastern European puppet animation cinema – went off to meet the teams behind four London art galleries and we take a tour of some of the city’s most beguiling brutalist estates.

The curator of Fashion Space gallery at London College of Fashion, Magda Keaney, introduces us to a portfolio of never-before-seen photographs by the German photographer Axel Hoedt of JJ Hudson. Her book, World’s Top Photographers Fashion and Advertising, was published by RotoVision in 2007.

Click here to buy your copy online or pop in to the b store shop, 24a Savile Row, London SW1 3PR. Also available at newsagents around the UK and internationally.
