NEW POWER STUDIO brings a twisted festive message to b Store this Christmas. Their installation, that on first sight looks like it has been inspired by a Hamleys Christmas toy display, on closer inspection morphs into a festive Christmas gay disco for cuddly penguins and polar bears. The darkness comes from a large snowball literally killing off the atmosphere of the gay rave and taking the fluffy arctic animals with it. To compliment the window NPS have designed 2 exclusive digitally printed T-shirts. Both have a Christmas inspired print but are not just for Christmas ... and can be worn all through the year!

New Power Studio is a London based project originated by stylist Thom Murphy and designer Ebru Ercon, with a rotating roster of names chipping in including Husam El Odeh, Mark Broome and Simon Parris. After presenting their last collection, entitled BLACK DUCK, Ebru's commitments outside NPS led to Thom steering the New Power ship alone. The project is an abstract one, centred on film, sculpture, music, clothing and accessories and the dialogue around and between. But reassuringly their take on modern fashion sportswear, a template beloved of menswear in the capital, was strong enough to work in its own context. The future looks promising with continued collaborations with b Store and a planned catwalk show as part of MAN to present NPS AW10 collection.

b Store opened the utilitarian project entitled “10 for DSM” at Dover Street Market this week, with a purpose built shop fit by frequent creative collaborator and recent architectural graduate TOM FINCH.

The idea behind the concept was to complement and enforce the uniformity of the exclusive range produced by b Store for Dover Street Market. Tom describes the space as “an interpretation of the work of architects, primarily early modernists such as Mies Van Der Rohe”. Similarly, Jan De Cock, the artist whom designed the existing interior on the second floor of Dover Street Market where the b Store concept is situated, also cites Van Der Rohe as being heavily influential in his work. The concept results in two complementary facets that can be read as two clearly distinctive elements.

This week sees the launch of the new b Store concession in cult London store Dover Street Market. The concession will feature a limited edition collaborative line designed exclusively for Dover Street Market, entitled ‘10 for DSM’. The range including shirts, trousers, a blazer, jackets and footwear, all reflecting the signature b Store aesthetic.

The b Store for DSM collection will be available 16th November 200 9 at Dover Street Market, London.

B-Store presents a version of Swedish artist Anna Kleberg’s new installation Back and Forth including photography, film and objects that simultaneously is on show at Andréhn- Schiptjenko gallery, Stockholm.

The starting point for Back and Forth was the actual space of the artist’s studio, Kleberg’s interest in the shifting nature of the photographic medium and thoughts about the creative process itself. The film and sequential photographs are based on a woman holding, balancing and being surrounded by boxes, paper and other materials from the studio.

Anna Kleberg’s show with B-store is the first presentation of her work in the UK. It is a collaboration with an unconventional space for art where exciting and unpredicted ideas and meetings can happen.

Anna Kleberg graduated from University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm in 1998 among her selected exhibitions are Andréhn-Schiptjenko, Stockholm, Uppsala Art Museum, Kulturhuset Stockholm, Malmö Art Museum, Galerie Ilka Bree, Bordeaux and Sharjah International Biennial.

Earlier in the year, b Store embarked on a project with cult watch specialist Casio G-Shock, called Tokyo Calling. The project was a great success and this autumn, we are proud to announce our second collaboration with G-Shock – in the form of two limited edition watches; the b Store Super Squares. The watches were designed with b Store’s Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie and blend G-Shock’s retro appeal with b Store’s idiosyncratic touch. Available in distinctive polka dot and gingham patterns, the watches retail at £150 and are available to buy online and in store now.
